Report: Official: EU ready to discuss trade relations with Russia
MOSCOW, Jan 14 (PRIME) -- The E.U. is ready for dialogue with Russia about the future of trade relations, ambassador to Russia Vygaudas Usackas told channel Rossiya 24 in an interview broadcast Thursday.
“The E.U. never slams doors, in particular before such important partners as Russia. We are open to dialogue,” Usackas said.
“There is most probably no sense in conducting such negotiations trilaterally because the agreement (on trade association with Ukraine) is already being carried out. But we are open to dialogue and for being addressed by Russia in order to discuss our trade relations in the future.”
He said that Russian gas transit across Ukraine to the E.U. is still an important issue on the agenda.
